Dolores McDole. a retired Pioneer High School English teacher, has participated as an exhibiting glass
artist in numerous Ann Arbor Arts and Crafts Fairs since the 1970's, under the name of Leaded Stained Glass by Dolores.
Show venues have included the U of M Artists and Craftsmen Guild Ann Arbor summer art shows and Audree Levy Art Fairs. Her
stained glass works, including window ornaments and Christmas designs, have also received national distribution through the
Ideation Corporation/Crown House of Gifts catalogs. Currently, her emphasis is on creating jewelry and other items using enameled,
dichroic, and fused glass under the name of Diamond D Designs, LLC. Dolores is a long time resident of the Ann Arbor area.
Although "Beauty is on the eye of the beholder," I strongly believe in a statement by Frank Lloyd Wright that
"If you invest wisely in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life." I find beauty all around
me whether it be fine design in kitchen appliances, clothing, automobiles, or a garden planted outside my window. What
intrigues me about fused dichroic glass is that it sparkles with beautiful vibrant colors which enhances my joy of being alive.
It was Vincent Van Gogh who said, "Color in a picture is like enthusiasm in life." I have an enthusiasm for
working with many kinds of glass, including dichroic, which for me, is equivalent to capturing an elusive rainbow and presenting
it to my family, friends, and customers for their enjoyment. I hope that you, too, will have great joy in having and/or
wearing one of my glass creations.
